Training (Drill) Towers

Research carried out by Crofton Engineering into the requirements for the training of fire officers has produced models designed to conform to current guidance on safety in drill towers, whilst maintaining the basic needs to provide a practical training facility.
Training Towers

Our towers can also provide mounting facilities for telecommunication aerials, abseiling, rope rescue practice or virtually any other adaption that may be required.
Live Fire Simulators
Crofton Engineering offer bespoke modular steel cost-effective Fire Behaviour Training Units (FBTU’s) using LPG-fired scenarios to a Fire & Rescue Service’s specific requirements.
Crofton’s FBTU’s utilise the very latest new generation gas combustion technology that prides a highly realistic flame signature, which combined with some obscuration that can be finely controlled delivers new standards of repeatable levels of realistic firefighter training experience and outcomes.
Cold Smoke Buildings
Our range of Cold Smoke Training products, using internally lockable doors, with layout and access routes that can be altered through the various rooms and lobbies. Window Shutters block light and hold in the cold smoke plus there is a Dry Riser in the double-flight stair lobby.
The smoke is removed efficiently with an extract system. The Roof Space, with Ladder Access through a Hatch, provides the facility for confined space training. The Roof, with a 450 pitch, provides yet another training opportunity for Sloping Ladder Practice. Fully integrated into the building is a Standard Drill Tower, customised with a 600mm wide Ledge for Working at Height rescue. Alongside this is a second tower structure with Exposed Structure and Overhead Beams to allow for Rope Rescue Scenarios.
USAR Buildings
Crofton Engineering have worked with various Fire and Rescue Services to design and deliver an off-the-shelf building that can be accommodated in a restricted drill yard area, yet provide lots of scope for USAR and other training such as:
- Working in confined spaces
- Safe working at height
- Carrying out search and rescue in a tunnel
- Removing rubble in a tunnel
- Shoring, breaking and breaching
- Lifting and moving
- Working on pitched roofs
